A Shreveport man has been sentenced in connection with a 2020 shooting.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – A Shreveport man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison in connection with crimes that occurred on June 16, 2020, according to the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office.

Davario Xavier Cole, 23, also known as “Nucci”, was convicted of attempted second-degree murder, a serious crime against property and a felon in possession of a weapon.

On the morning of June 16, 2020, the victim’s home was shot multiple times. The victim and her family suspected Cole of sending threatening messages that he would kill the victim’s daughter.

That morning, Cole returned home with a handgun with an extended magazine, and was confronted by the victim’s brother. The brother and his family returned home, fearing that they would be shot. Cole then turns around and shoots the house again.

Authorities said Cole has a prior conviction for trespassing at the victim’s home. This prohibits him from being there or carrying/carrying a firearm. While incarcerated, Cole sent messages threatening to kill every member of his estranged girlfriend’s family and anyone in between. He also said on the reported line that anyone who speaks about him will die.
