A West Sussex estate agent says his job shouldn’t just be about buying and selling houses and helping people achieve their dreams goes deeper than bricks and mortar.
Paul Davis, Owner and Director Home estate and rental agency (pictured left), the company has revealed to Neg that it donates 20% of its profits to local community groups.
He says: “As a real estate agent, I feel very strongly that we have a responsibility to our community.
“An estate agency shouldn’t and shouldn’t just be in the business of buying and selling houses.”
“It’s about helping people achieve their dreams and create positive lifestyles, and that goes deeper than bricks and mortar. It means doing what we can to leave our own positive legacy.
Home Estate and Lettings agency Carfax has moved to new premises in Horsham just months after It acquired Storrington-based Clark & Charlesworth.
Both offices are equipped with selected suppliers to use 100% renewable energy and recyclable materials.
Natural rugs, recycled seating and fabrics, and custom-made compostable partition walls were used for property brochures along with Terracycle bins and compostable covers.
Society
At Home already offers local community chest schemes (every time a property is sold £100 goes to a community project) as well as positive projects as a direct way of giving back.
Davis worked closely with a sustainability consultant to achieve his ambitions.
He added: “We have reviewed our operating procedures, suppliers and materials. We know we are not perfect, we know we have a lot of work to do but we are determined to be part of a new and more responsible property agency.”
