Farewell will protect the operation of the cafe, the statement said.
The grocery store is expected to close temporarily in early January for reconstruction. The cafe will remain open during the renovation.
Emily Toribio, a spokeswoman for Fareway, said Fareway has contacted existing Brick Street employees and will have further discussions about the possibility of working at Fareway. That will happen before open interviews are held for the revamped store.

Boone-based Fareway, which has more than 130 stores, is expanding across the metro and Midwest, including Iowa’s second Farewell Meat Market store in Des Moines’ Beaverdale neighborhood, which opened in June. Iowa’s first Farewell Meat Market opened in 2018 in Ames.
Between 2000 and 2020, Bondurant has gone from a population of less than 1,900 to a population of nearly 7,400 in the last few decades, a suburb of Des Moines.
The Census Bureau estimates that Bondurant in 2010 It is expected to hit 8,000 people in July 2021, a population increase of more than 9 percent since the last official census.
