Don’t give up on finding the house you want

  • Housing is gradually becoming a “buyer’s market”.
  • Asking prices are typically higher than usual, but sellers are decreasing.
  • Don’t expect a major housing crash similar to 2008, experts say.

After nearly three months and looking at 24 different homes, Kevin Lowry and Matthew Hambleton thought they had found their forever home.

They found a two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom apartment in suburban Philadelphia. The couple, one a health care worker and the other an investment banker, offered what they thought was a great deal, but were rejected from a total of $70,000.
