Are you in the process of selling your home? Among the aromas are baked bread, fresh linen and brewing coffee. It can help your home sell faster, a new study has found.
Small things make a big difference when it comes to attracting prospective buyers. If you have the time, baking a loaf of bread, making a good cup of coffee, or arranging fresh flowers before the viewing will help your dream buyer make an offer.
Colby Short, co-founder and CEO of GetAgent, said: ‘Our research has shown just how much a home’s scent can influence buyers, with certain scents emerging as favorites among homeowners.
The study also found that, conversely, certain smells can deter people from buying a home even if they like the rest of the property. Like mold, smoke and that ‘dusty attic smell’ all appeared as unmistakable smells.
‘Make sure you clean your house regularly and open windows around the house to encourage air flow to avoid lingering bad smells,’ suggests Colby.
